Our Pastors

Jeremiah J. Sargent
Senior Pastor

Pastor Jeremiah was born in Wangaratta, Victoria, Australia. He was saved in 1984, and baptized into the Willetton Bible Baptist Church (Western Australia) the following year. In 1988 he moved with his family to Oak Harbor, Washington, transferring his membership to Bible Baptist Church. He surrendered to the call of God to preach in 1992, and soon began serving in several ministries of the Church, including the Sunday School and the Jail ministry. He is a graduate of the Church’s Christian School, the Church’s Bible Institute, and holds a degree in the Graphic Arts (printing). Following his marriage to Shannon in 2000, Brother Jeremiah served as a deacon and director of the Church’s Youth ministries. He entered full time ministry on the pastoral staff of the Church in 2003 as a “minister to the pastors” (Acts 19:22), and was ordained a pastor on March 12, 2006. On that same date, Brother Jeremiah assumed the position of “senior” pastor of Bible Baptist Church. You can contact Pastor Jeremiah at his Office.

Timothy P. Geist
Minister to the Pastors

Tim Geist grew up in St. Paul, MN and joined the U.S. Navy in 1986. He was saved in 1987 when God used a college History course to show Tim that the Bible is truly the Word of God in its entirety (I Thessalonians 2:13; II Timothy 3:16). Brother Geist served four years as an enlisted Sailor before returning to college in 1990 to finish his bachelor’s degree. He was commissioned in 1992 and spent the remainder of his Naval career in airborne reconnaissance. Brother Geist is a deacon, one of the church song leaders and pianists, and serves in the Singles Pleasing God (SPG) ministry. He acknowledged God’s call on his life to preach in 2006 and graduated from the church’s Bible Institute in 2007. He came on staff in February, 2008 to continue his training for the ministry under Pastors Jeremiah and Robert Sargent. Brother Geist and his wife, Katie, are blessed with five children, four of whom are still at home. They attend Bible Baptist School where Katie works as a volunteer. Christopher A. Majors
Minister to the Pastors

Chris Majors grew up in Tennessee, and trusted Christ as his Savior at age ten. After running from the Lord during his teenage years, he eventually joined the United States Navy. Following a tour of duty at Lemoore, CA he was transferred to NAS Whidbey in 2005. At this time he and his wife (Selena) began attending Bible Baptist Church. Selena soon became a believer, and in November 2005 Chris surrendered to the call of God upon his life to preach the Gospel. After completing an enlistment of over five years, he was honorably discharged from the military, and in May 2007 began serving the Lord full time in the Church as a “minister to the pastors” (Acts 19:22). He is currently working at completing his Bible Training Institute courses, and is involved in working with the youth of the Church and outreach to single military personnel. He and his wife are blessed with two daughters. You can contact Brother Majors at his Office.

Christopher S. Spence
Minister to the Pastors

Chris Spence grew up attending Bible Baptist Church. During his teen years as a student in the Church’s Christian School, he struggled with the assurance of his salvation. However, in 2003 he settled all doubts and trusted Christ. After that he began serving the Lord in several ministries of the Church, particularly those associated with music and children. After graduating from Bible Baptist Church School in 2005 he received the call of God upon his life. Following several months of “running from the Lord,” in November of that year he surrendered his life to Christ and to the ministry — the greatest decision he acknowledges ever making. From that time he became one of the several “PiTs” (preachers-in-training) in the Church. He joined the staff of the Church in September 2006 as a “minister to the pastors” (Acts 19:22), and is also is pursuing studies in Graphic Design. You can contact Brother Spence at his Office.
